Guderale Estate is the second largest tea estate of the Kanan Devan Hills Plantation, which is situated at an altitude of 5500 feet above sea level east of Munnar. The tea is an amalgamation of three estates Arivikad, Guderale and Devikulam, which is spread out across an area of 3527 hectares and 13 divisions.

Like the other estates of the High Range, it too has an interesting history. It has the honour of being the first estate in the High Range area. AW Turner established it in 1878 with the help of Tamil labourers. The first plantation was Cinchona. Later in 1900, tea was planted for the first time. The estate is blessed with many beautiful spots, the Devikulam and the Arivikad waterfalls to name a few. It is most renowned for the rock with an engraved chessboard. Legend has it that the Pandavas played the game of Dice.

Seabuckthorn, a popular Scandinavian berry, is also commonly used in traditional Scandinavian liqour.
